I love it when the Olympics comes around. I think I just like the idea of the world coming together in the spirit of friendly competition. The opening ceremonies were especially incredible this year. Just... wow. I don't know if any of the future hosts will be able to top that, but it'll be interesting to see somebody try.

For some reason, the dream I had last night was basically like watching an anime about ice hockey. It was neat. It was kind of like what Ike! Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu would be if it had been an anime series.

It's been on my mind all day and I kind of want to write a comic like that now.

I can't remember if I've ever mentioned it here or not, but I've long had the thought that it would be interesting to make a hockey-themed fighting game. That is, a game that plays like a proper fighting game, but with characters that all look like hockey players. I watched basically the entire Super Bowl. I mean, actually watched it, and didn't just turn it on part way through for background noise or something. That's the first time I've ever done that. Don't think I'd do it again, though. That last quarter almost put me to sleep by the time it got there.

On the other hand, yay Giants.

It came as a tremendous surprise the first time I saw a 2004 edition sports game for the original Playstation, since I didn't know they were even still making PS1 games by that point. This, though, just baffles me.

On the local news earlier, there was footage from a recent hockey game between our Blazers and the Tulsa... something. Oilers, I think. Anyway, as is apparently common, there was a fight at one point. Two players were just slugging it out, throwing haymakers left and right. So, we were doing our monthly price updates today, and I noticed something that made me laugh. There's a sports game called All Pro Football 2K8, and one of the systems is already listing its version of it as a budget title. That's just funny to me.
